Wine Tasting or Class

A wine tasting and a wine class are one in the same. The Sommelier pours 2 to 3 ounces of four selected wines from a pouring station that the guest can approach or at the seat that the guest has taken. The Sommelier talks about the wine, the winery, the varietal that is being poured and the food that the wine would pair best with. Questions are welcome at anytime. These events tend to will naturally lean toward a class room environment.

A Series of 6 Wine Classes

While tasting four wines throughout an hour and a half of classes time, literature is passed out and followed while the Sommelier tells colorful stories of experiences learned.

“Wine Class 101″

  • It’s the basics.
  • Topics:
  • Wine Bottle Presentation
  • Screw Cap Vs Cork
  • Wine Regions of France
  • New World Vs Old World
  • Confusions In The World Of Wine
  • Proper Serving Temperatures
  • And More

“Wine Class 202″

This is a bit more advanced and we go into the growing of the grapes, the wine making process, wine allergies, what is organic,
aging wine, and so on.

“Tasting Like a Pro”

In this class we teach you to be able to tell what kind of wine is in the glass without you being told. We start by eliminating what it’s
not, to figure out what it is. It’s a fun class and it really works.

“The History of Napa”

We taste all Napa wines and the hand out is all photos. We use those photos to tell a story that begins in 1868 with the first
commercial winery and does a “Six Degrees of Separation” to present day.

“Basic Food & Wine Pairing”

Using visual illustration, we learn the basic principles on matching the right wine with the right food. Also, learn what not to pair in
order to not destroy your food or wine.

“Why Cabernets Are King”

This is when we taste only Cabernets from 5 different regions around the world. We explore the history and politics. As well as the
scoring of wines. Wine Spectator Vs Robert Parker. We also talk about an interview I did with the owners of Guillams Winery from
Napa about wine scoring politics.

Your Sommelier will work with you to customize a program that works for you. We will arrive with the wines chilled to proper temperature, polished wine glasses, and tasting notes of the wines that we will be experiencing. Of course, all material can include your company’s letterhead, logo, contact information and more. Wine tastings can dramatically increase attendance to open houses, client & staff appreciation

Wine Bar (Pouring Station)

Some events are intended to be primarily social, encouraging the attendees to mingle rather than participate in a wine tasting. We can have our Sommelier customize a “wine
bar” pouring station. At many reception the attendees do not all arrive at the same time, which also makes having a “wine bar” a perfect activity to immediately engage the guests and put a beverage in their hand upon arrival. The Sommelier will function as simply a bartender.

Wine Pairing Dinner

With this event, a sommelier and a accomplished chef would collaborate together to create a dinner carefully paired with the ideal wines. The dinner would be approximately
five courses paired with the same number of wines, the last course being dessert. There would need to be a functioning kitchen available for this event. The menu, of course, would meet your approval and the wines would be selected with your guests’ palate in mind.

Wine Club

A wine club member has $30 automatically deducted from his or her account every month on the same date. They must come to your establishment to pick up their bottles of wine. Each month there will be two reds & one white to choose from. They get a choice of two out of three wines. Most people will want just reds. The wines that they choose from will not be available in grocery stores, Costco, or large retail wine stores like Total or Bevmo

Using a simple Excel program, each club members monthly fee will automatically be entered into your account. There will be two records of the club members, one in the Excel program, and the other in a file box which will be kept in the area of where the club member will pick up their wine. On the card in the file box there will be a place for the club member to sign upon picking up their wine each month. If they go several or many months without picking up their wine they will be reminded of what month they have left off at with the file card.

Who Selects The Wine For The Wine Club

The club wines will be selected each month by an experienced sommelier with many years experience managing successful wine clubs. These wines will be selected upon its approachability and distinction from the previous month’s selection.

The Advantages to Joining Your Wine Club

Many people have found that by joining a wine club, they get the excitement of trying new and delicious wines without having to face the confusion of a largely stocked wine specialty shop. An expert has picked the wine out for them so they don’t have to play Russian roulette with their money and struggle with a disappointing pick.

The value of a wine club is based on the buying power as a collective. The bigger the club, the better the wines, for a lower price.

The Gifting Of Their Wine Club Gifting

A wine club membership is a great idea. You can gift a few months at a time, or you can give your friend, family member, or business associate a gift certificate toward a membership. A membership can be cancelled at anytime and there are no obligations toward a wine club membership so there is no pressure about having to pay monthly dues.

A Learning Experience

The club member will get to experience and learn about wines and varietals that would normally not cross their path.
